FAQS

According to national legislation, Museum is a permanent institution, with or without legal personality, non-profit, endowed with an organizational structure that allows it to:
  • • Ensure a unitary destination to a set of cultural assets and enhance them through research, incorporation, inventory, documentation, conservation, interpretation, exhibition and dissemination, with scientific, educational and recreational objectives.

  • The objects exhibited in museums can be called collections/estates or museological collections, or simply pieces when it comes to just one object.
  • The collection process is carried out by the museum's technical team, through a collection form, containing relevant information about the object, which is preceded by research and prospecting works that determine the interest and relevance in the collection of certain objects. This work is normally done with communities, collectors or other entities and also, depending on the museum's vocation or the previously defined objectives.

To promote your museum on this site you can contact us through our email: museusdecaboverde@gmail.com or by calling the Museums Directorate at 2618870.

Requests for visits can be sent by note to the email: museusdecaboverde@gmail.com or nospatrimonio@gmail.com. In the note, it is desirable to indicate the scope of the visit, the number of students and the level of education, the date and time you intend to visit in order to better organize it.

Usually a symbolic fee is charged for entrance to the museums. For nationals (youth, adults) this value is lower. With these recipes, museums are able to organize different educational activities such as summer camp, pedagogical activities with children and also some small cultural entertainment events and other small actions of current management.
